Hi all. Just purchased a 2011 pathfinder and in the paperwork is an instruction sheet for assembly. It mentions fitting roof bars during the tensioning of the canopy. There are no roof bars with the unit and none of the videos I have seen show them during assembly of the camper, are they something I should get or are they not used now or is the instruction sheet for a different model?. Advice please

Never had roof bars in our 2010 Pathfinder, the only thing used to tension the canopy was the 'pram handle' poles.

Thanks for the reply, seems they may be used in some of the canvas roofed versions (found a picture of an older one with the bars in).

Our old 2005 canvas pathfinder had stretcher poles that also spanned the camper when in transit to stop the cover sagging. When we upgraded to a 2012 with the modern material canopy, there were no tensioning bars. I asked about these with the dealer and as the new canopy isn't canvas they weren't required. Plus the bed supports now do the same job as the stretcher bars when in transit.

Thanks for the info. I was fairly sure that would be the case but nice to have it confirmed.
