Hi,anyone outthere, know any thing about powrwheel jockey wheels.Made originally in Christchuch,Dorset,i believe.-I have power to the wheel,if i use a cable direct from the leisure battery,to the wheel motor.+ and -,and using the cable i hear the solenoid clicking,if i touch certain terminals.(More by luck.)But if i connect to the camper direct through the power lead that normally connects the brake lights and indicators to my car, nothing happens. The jockey wheel arm has a switch, but no response.(Not sure my explanation is very good)

ok i havent got one of these but perhaps can offer thoughts as to what is happening?

when you connect the wheel up to your leisure battery from what i know of these type of wheels that is the normal way to use them, is your battery fully charged? if so, how long was it since the power wheel was used? could it be that something has jammed and is stopping it driving the wheel?

why would you want to connect it to your car? your 12n and 12s sockets wont have the power supply in the correct places to do that, but also if your moving the caravan the car isnt going to be anywhere near it and getting in the way surely?

these type of movers are really not very good, they are only suitable for using on good ground such as flat tarmac, something we found out about after buying a manual version, where the jockey wheel simply scrabbled for grip all the time, in the end we simply didnt bother using it, and just either use the car or we hand push it

Thanks Marg6,for your thoughts and advice.Going to get this device tested, looks like solanoid might be the problem.I will report back on findings. As to moving the folding camper-these movers do the job, because the camper is lightweight compared to a caravan, but still heavy enough when moving on grass.

Problem solved.-The cable that connects to the car for lights and brakes, from the camper, only receives current inward. The jockey wheel if connected to the leisure battery, with a separate connector, and cable on the outside of the camper works perfectly.
