Has anyone replaced their centre ridge pole since the plastic brackets on the corners have become obsolete?

I’ve just bought a new one for my Pennine Pathfinder. Pennine’s website says:

Any order for a replacement hoop will NOT come with these fitted, and will have to be transferred by yourself when the new pole is received.

Just wondering if anyone has done this and has any tips? Was it easy?

Update, changing the pole was easy, but I couldn’t get the plastic brackets off. I’ve decided to do without them and see if I can use something else to attach the stretcher bars to.

What do the plastic brackets look like, can you put a picture up of the pole and brackets, it may help in your query
