Never had to waterproof any of our poly tents but now we have our little 'new to us' trailer tent thinking we should give it a waterproofing. What's the best and what method please?

leave it alone unless you know for certain it is actually leaking, put it up at home and test with a hosepipe, get it thoroughly wet and check for leaks, if you find any then let it dry out and then soak it again, you should find that it has recovered on its own

Thank you. We don't have the space to do that at home so will just have to keep our fingers crossed!

I absolutely agree with marg6, don't waterproof it!

Cotton canvas is totally different to synthetic tent fabric, the fibres swell when wet and contract when dry. If you re-proof, you'll stop these inherent characteristics. A couple of soaking and drying out sessions should be all it needs.
