Hi all.. Heading to France this year first time in trailer tent but I have been hearing you are not allowed travel with gas on the boat etc?.... Also in general for around Ireland how do people travel with their 5kg bottles?.. Thanks
This myth of no LPG on ferries has been circulating for years, and rears it's ugly head from time to time when some ill informed type spreads the myth afresh!
You CAN take LPG cylinders on a ferry, there are limits and conditions though. It falls under 'Transport of Dangerous Goods' regulations.
Each ferry company words it in their own particular way it seems, and often buries it deep in T & Cs, but generally hinges around Max of 3 cylinders, with a Max combined weight of 47Kg. Gas must be turned off at cylinder valve.
Hi Monty.... Fantastic info thanks as always..... I live in Ireland I guess I meant in general transport... Stood up packed in the boot I guess is best option... Thanks again
