Hi,
I've just bought a Pennine Fiesta 2001 Model. Collecting on Saturday.
I've recently fitted a towbar to my wife's car which has a 12N 7 pin socket however I'm unsure what towing socket the Fiesta has. Seller is going to check but didn't seem to know.
Will the towing electrics on the Pennine Fiesta fit my cars 12N 7 pin socket or will i need an adaptor?
Pretty sure at 2001 it will have 12N system fitted.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Agree with blueexpo97, 7 pin 12N would have been original fitting, but at 24 years old and how many owners, that is unlikely to be still fitted (the 7 pin plugs are prone to contact corrosion and often get replaced) and could have had a replacement either 7pin or 'modern' 13pin plug which has been the standard since 2008!
Only the current owner/seller will know. Adaptors available to convert between 7-13 pin plugs and sockets, or better to swap the plug to match tow car socket as less 'contacts/joints' to potentially give issues.
I agree with Monty, the plug may have been changed to suit an older car.
For the relatively low price I would fit a new plug to match the socket fitted to the car.
