I have got a "Pennine Pullman" He is part of the family!
On a serious note, Pennine seem to be the best Folding Camper's, very well built, very easy to tow.
Can't really think of anything wrong with them, tell a lie, we don't alway's get perfect weather all the time when on holiday. Mind you, i guess that applies to any Tent, Folding Camper, or Caravan!
Hi there, we looked at both makes, and felt that Pennine were better quality and more nicely finished, however, you do pay more for them, although they seem to hold their value well.
Hello,I have had pennine t/tent and now a Stirling and i also cannot fault them .My t/tent is 14 years old and still in the family my daughter and son in law now own it.We have a second hand stirling and we love it the build quality is very good and so easy to put up.Good luck in your search.
Wellllllllllllll the wife and I bought a Trigano 575 LX (2004 model) and its been great. Easy to tow, easy for me to put up on my own and the same can be said for the awning. It's very comfortable with two kingsized beds and a double is situated between the two bench seats. I think that it was good value for money as we only paid £6,000 for it new but ex demo. I know Norwich Camping and Leisure have an unwrapped one for £6,500.00 which is good value I think.
To put it in context, the wife and I took my mother in law to north wales last year, we got wind, gales and she utterly enjoyed every minute of it. Plus we were all snug and warm and the unit did not budge an inch in the gales.
We have a trigano randger 575tc. Can`t fault it. Has all the extras + kingsize beds at front and rear.Easy and quick to put up.Very good quality Also has very large awning included all for a fantastic price.
To sum it up it has been well thought out and very pratical in design.
My advice would be to have a close look and see for yourself.
My wife is camping-mad and, subsequently, we have tried just about every possible outfit, from a dome tent to a frame tent, to a trailer tent, to a folding camper, to a caravan and back again (several times!) In the canvas department, we have owned Cabanon and Conway and Pennine (but recently purchased a Hymer caravan so are selling our pristine 2004 Pennine Sterling plus annexes and extras, if you are interested - see ad dated 28th July in the classified section).
Basically, we found the Pennines are easy to store, tow and pitch. The interiors are spacious and well equipped and of high quality. We have also previously owned a Pathfinder, but found it was just extra hassle putting the loo etc. up (always use site facilities, anyway!), and never used the oven or hot water system. It is all down to personal preferance, at the end of the day, but we prefer the simplicity and pitching speed of the Sterling, then put a porta potti in one of the extensions for night-time emergencies - the annexes also provide huge extra storage space and a second one with inner is used as an additional bedroom area.
We upgraded to the Hymer becauuse it has three single beds (two are fixed bunks and excellent) as the kids did not want to share doubles in the camper anymore, but miss the fixed seating area in the centre of the camper.
Don't know much about the Trigano, we have looked at them (briefly) but always come back to the Pennines.
This has been asked before - I remember posting! Try searching the board to find the thread.
Basically, both have their fans.
Pennine - higher spec, more like a caravan inside. Plusher fabrics, seat cushions etc. Roomier washroom. Much more expensive. We couldn't justify the cost.
Trigano - good value unit. Canvas still excellent quality. Fittings less plush. New models have water heater and oven, 2004 models and earlier do not. That doesn't bother us - we use the site facilities and like two ring cooking! Sig cheaper.
Speaking as an ex TT camper, I would say that the best part is having an on board toilet - I wouldn't have considered one without.
We bought our Pennine Pathfinder after having the Pullman.
We thought about what we wanted in a folder and it came down to a washroom and blown air heating as well as hot water for the occasional wash up when the site facilities are overflowing. Best thing we ever bought.
Penine have always been the better for folding camper's, however after seeing there latest models at the caravan and camping show earlier this year I thought they had a cheaper look about them. Trigano have come on in leaps and bounds in the last few years and although not quite up to Conway/Pennine standards (my opinion) they are a good camper and quite a bit cheaper.
I have a sterling folding camper for sale. its on the For sale ads on this site. Everything included with uit so you can just hook up and go. 1999 version and excellent condition. Have a look at my add. We are selling due to upgrade. Had three of these now and pennine are excellent.
Happy camping

Hi - We had a Pennine Sterling - absolutely brilliant - loved it.....2 adults + 2 dogs, plenty big enough especially with the awning on. Quality folding campers - unfortunately we had to sell - getting too old to put up canvas and hitch up to car. If we were'nt so arthritic and "clapped out" we would still be enjoying the camper. Gone to lazy life now - motorhome!!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
