Today, I noticed that the 'cover' to my socket on the towbar is missing! Either it's fallen off - which I doubt it or some swine has pinched it, while I was out with the children yesterday!
Aren't there some rotten swines about that do this!
Allllllll, the time! Have given up replacing 'em now coz I think the local car spares place has been swipin' 'em!
Won't give the buers the satisfaction anymore, 'specially since our new van has to have the de-greased tow ball, so no more mucky legs! (Well, not from that at any rate -lol)
My name's hippy chick and I am a ukcs addict.......
I thought some mean scumbag had nicked ours once and THOUGHT i saw it on the back of a neighbours car as it is a white one so crept down the close at night and got back our propety . Felt really chuffed with myself until OH found ours in the garage so had to play at being in the SAS again to put it back.
We had our tow ball cover pinched several times. We would usually discover it had gone when we had fouled a skirt or trousers with grease.
So I bought a stainless steel one, drilled a hole in the bottom edge and slipped a padlock through to lock it in place. I also turned the cap so the lock was exposed to deter potential thieves from trying but they still did.
I suppose its the same with wheeltrims - they nick them 'cos they can.
We have a detacheable towbar now so it can be unlocked and stored elswhere.
I have got so fed up losing them or having them nicked that I bought a length of bath plug chain from B & Q, made a hole in the three covers and threaded it through. Since then I haven't lost any, although on a few ocassions I have seen one hanging on the chain held by the other two. If somebobdy wants them they'll have to nick all three and the chain now
