I am planning my last trip in my foldng caravan this week, I have heard that you are supposed to remove the wheels for the winter, as this is my first fc I am not sure if this is true, my fc is kept on our drive on gravel.
Hi babsie, you don,t have to remove the wheels. just put it on axle stands & cover the wheels with something to stop sun damage.

Its a good idea to jack the fc up on axle stands to take the weight off the tyres and suspension.
This prevents the tyres getting a flat spot where it sits on the ground for so long. If you store it away from your home it is also a good idea to remove the wheels and take those home. This makes it harder for the oportunist to drag it away etc.
Finally, asuming you have a level storage area, release the handbrake to save the cable. If it gets stuck it isn't stuck in the braked position.
The problem is the fact that the unit will stand for a very long time with the wheels in one position, and that can adversly affect the tyres. They can end up with a flat area on them or weakening of the sidewall. Some remove the wheels and put the unit on stands, others move it occasionally, and still others ignore the problem totally. It all appears to vary depending on how seriously you view the problem.
