ooops posted this in caravans .  try again in here..

hi all         does anyone have or had any experience with a folding caravan . for some time now i have had folding campers but am thinking of a change . are they as good as a standard caravan or are there draw backs with them . would like to go for a standard caravan but the wife gets a bit claustrophobic in them and thought that a folding caravan would have bigger windows in them thus not making the wife feel to closed in . any coments will be appreciated .

Some of the advantages of a folding caravan over a normal caravan are.

Towing you get a lot less wind resistance, (thereby saving a bit on fuel)

Ease of manouvering (you can see over the top of it whilst pushing it around in to position and on driveway etc). 

I find mine just as good as a standard caravan it takes approx 10 mins to set it up including flip cooker and wardrobe in to place and hanging the shelves etc on the wall.

You wont find that the windows are any larger though than on a normal caravan so best for the wife to view them when erected to see if she finds then claustrophobic

If you want more of a caravan feel to a folding camper but with large windows etc then I heartily recommend coleman folding campers even the ones over 20yrs old seem to be of a lot better build quality than modern day uk models 

hi jps71  the coleman folding campers are still canvas and i was wanting to get away from canvas for a while . dont get me wrong we love the sterling camper we have had for some years now but i want to go for a caravan but storage is a problem and the wife gets claustrophobic in caravans as they seem to have small windows but i was hoping to get a folding caravan with large windows and also it is no problem ( i hope ) to store in the garage .
