When we bought our Pathfinder some years ago (6 to be exact) the price wasn't negotiable. There were plenty of 'extras' eg. awning, and we could have asked for other things to be fitted and paid for the privilege. Negotiating as to price is normally dependant on what else the dealer has to play with as with cars - if he thinks there is more to gain by offering a low price for the part ex - then he may offer the new unit at a 'discount' price.
I doubt you will gain much. On the other hand, once you've decided what you want, then a ring round to the suppliers in your area (or else where) might get you a better deal + extras.
We bought our Pathfinder from Don Amott's near Derby early this year. We managed to get a late 2005 model complete with awning. The unit had nothing else with it like clean and waste water bottles, leisure battery, electric lead, step, gas bottles. The deal we got was £145 to spend in their shop.
We thought we got a good deal because it had only been used once. The cooker had never been used.
Just to make you think a bit have you looked at the trigano 575tc we bought ourselves a new one in march from camperlands near manchester it might not have the same finish as the pathfinder and dosen't have an oven but it does have two kingsize beds and we got it brand new for less than £7000 so just somethink to get you thinking. Just so you know we have been away in ours about 4 times allready and no problems with it and really comfy and easy to tow. If you need any more info let me know or you can check out www.camperlands.co.uk
Barrons at Coppull won't negotiate at all, no price reductions or freebies thrown in, the price you see is the price you pay and it ain't cheap. And if there's owt wrong with it after then it's tough.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
We pick our new Pathfinder up next Thursday from Highbridge,it was £500 cheaper than anywhere else and they give you a free step and extension cable Wow! I here you cry but every little thing counts. You also get 10% discount in there accessory shop.We are from North notts so to travel to Sommersett is quite a journey but we are staying the week end at a site with a £20 discount voucher from Highbridge. We where advised to sell our Sterling private to get a better price and we did however they would not budge on price when we offered cash.We called at Caseys in Cheshire(very nice people),JR leisure and Bawtry (south yorkshire caravans)and none of them could beat Highbridge.
Or you could buy a used unit on ebay for this year then trade it in at the show in October. It's always the trade-in that gets you the deal, the exact opposite to cars. And you get the show offer thrown in, which is often the awning.
My Pathfinder is 6 weeks old and I'm taking it back this weekend for a number of issues. My advice would be buy from a local dealer so you have easy access, and also look at second-hand. The deals could be good and you're more likely to have fundamental issues been addressed by others.
Despite the above - having upgraded from a TT, the Pathfinder is great. The toliet is just perfect engineering and a winner with the wife and kids. Just need to get a stabiliser.
We purchased a 2005 model second hand and as MattGrizzly said there are issues. We bought ours from a dealer and the first time we used it we had a problem with some of the electrics. It was a faulty trip switch which has been a common problem for 2 years on some pathfinders. I called the dealer and they sent me a new one to fit.
We have been since in Percy the pathfinder and she is perfect. So cozy and comfortable. Tows like a dream even without a stabiliser with our 1.6 sport astra.
