Hi everyone! I am thinking of a small trailer tent that is quick/easy to put up on my own with teenage daughter. Have thought about Comanche, Combi camp etc, but can't afford these new, and finding one for sale in a newish condition near me and in my budget seems to be proving impossible. Wondered if anyone has any opinion of the Sunncamp Duo 240. At £1299 new, at pj camping it is appealing, but is it any good?
...don't rule out the combicamps even if they're older - very good canvas and if well looked after can last for years more - most of us in the owners group (see link) have older ones and most camp alone with kids! Main bit is up in seconds......ps I have a 97 one for sale in the free ads on here...!
Thanks for taking away my sad face and the advice and friendly welcome. It all seems a bit scary when your just starting out, but everyone here seems very friendly
Your combi camp looks great, I'm sure it will go quickly as I know there are not many in good condition for sale! I think though that I'm looking for smaller unit with a full awning, as then when/if my teenage son comes with me the odd time he can stay in awning with a mate !! That was why the duo caught my eye, but don't see many advertised anywhere, and can't find feedback on them

Wow that is a good price. I am looking at buying a 2 person TT/FC. We had decided on a Raclet Solena ..... Thanks for pointing that out......
Yes the price is good, but I don't seem to be able to find anyone with one or feedback, and wonder why? A lot of the camping shops just have the 350, and 450, and you would think this would be more popular at this price
Hi Ellie. Have received the brochure from Sunncamp today with details of the Duo 240. Think it is a new T T and that is probably why you have not had any feedback. If you hear anything about it please let me know. Cheers Cat x
Hi Ellie........ Spoke to a guy at Camperlands today. He said they are a new unit and he has not ever seen one. He did say he could order me one if I wanted it but I really want to see one before I buy.
Well I phoned pj camping in Romford. They have one on display, and as you said, they are a new model and proving very popular, they had only one left ready to buy, or can order in for just one week. I asked about the seating as I did not think it was very clear in the photos on line , but there are 2 seats in the cabin the second being incorporated into the double for sleeping later. Very similar to the cabanon venus inside. Think I'll go have a look. There is a pj camping at St Albans, Hertfordshire, check the website, who have them on display too, don't know if thats' still too far for you, you may find another dealer nearer to you. Good luck!
Hi we have just bought a second hand Sunncamp 250 and we cant fault it. From what I have seen the 240 is very similar just slightly shorter. From what you have said it will be plenty big enough and easy enough(as these things ever are) for you. I think the shops only stock the bigger one because its a popular choice. It may be worth you looking for 2nd hand ones, they can be great value for money and the quality is as good as new in some cases. Ours is.
Hi Ellie, just got back from viewing a sunncamp holiday duo 240 display at Ringwood. I was very impressed with it and great value for money, I'm definitely thinking of upgrading to this model at the end of the season. I've got a sunncamp vario 5 (tunnel tent) at the moment and have had no problems with it!
Sunncamp have got some details of the 240 Duo model on their website
