Hello all,

I am very new to any kind of camping/caravaning!  In January 06 I brought an 1987 Esterel folding caravan after getting fed up of paying b&b prices!  In June I brought my lovely Rav-4 and in the last week have attached a tow bar so can now join the 2 bits together.

I went out on a test tow last night and other than one attempt to have a fiesta run into my side at a round-a-bout all went well.

I now can't wait until August when we are off down to Folkstone for a proper holiday.

I have practiced the putting up of awning, tested the water, gas and electric, the curtains have been changed, special bags made to hang up clothes, a new lighter light fitted, saucepans that all fit into each other purchased and have mastered putting up the caravan in less than 5 minutes.

Is it possible to be addicted to the whole lifestlye without my van leaving the garden? :)

Hi ew78uk, I always get a feeling of excitment just before a trip and yes I'm sure an addiction occures at an early stage of your camping experience, hope your trip goes well and you enjoy it.

The camping addiction is an automatic requirement - as it is with accessing this site!

The addiction starts with the voice of reason - we only need....  Then it extends to - That looks REALLY useful...... and before you know where you are you need a bigger unit.....
