We have a much loved Raclet Quickstop folding camper which we spend most holidays and weekends in during the summer but have never dared to spend winter weekends in it. Yet. Any tips? Also, if it isnt practical to get away during the winter in our beloved Raclet (bearing in mind that getting it dry could be a problem) and we need to change, what would you all recommend?

I'd stick with what you've got and persue some means of drying it in wintertime; access to a large garage or barn or something, or maybe even some sort of indoor storage. All a bit of tall order, yes, but not impossible.
You don't want to go tin top do you? I'm not ready for that yet.
We'd be comfortable in our TT in anything a UK winter could throw at it. After last years main cold camping trip, we might just prop up our heating facilities this year. Might try electric blankets for example.
I, like you I suspect, cannot bare the thought of putting the tent away soon and not using it again until spring. No way!
You are so right - I cant bear the thought of the last outing of the year and go into a decline until we can get away again but no I am not ready to go tin top. The sound of rain on a tin roof the morning after the night before - I dont think so! And now I know that someone out there is as as crazy as me then I am happy to give winter camping a go. Watch this space.
Funnily enough the Trigano is one of the makes we were looking at as a potential replacement when our Raclet finally gives up. But hopefully it wont be for many moons yet.

You could try a Dandy, think there made of pvc so no worries about drying,I am also pretty sure the up to date ones have underfloor heating,What luxury!!!
Now that is the stuff dreams are made off. I am told though that trying to find a used one is about as easy as finding hens teeth! Never mind - when the numbers come up....

We use an electric panel radiator we bought from Tesco's for about £6 six. It is switchable 1 or 2 kw and at the lower setting uses about 4 amps.
Being NOT oil filled it is very light and the surfaces are warm and therefore safe.
We have used tin tops and motor homes in winter and have had problems like the plumbing freezing up and ice inside the windows so we stay at home in cold weather now.
I was suprised that the canvas dried really quickly when it was cold. We've been out in February in the frost and it was fine. Luckily if things go "torrential rain" we can put her up in the barn. Electric blankets are now very cheap and mean you will be toasty warm at night. Just remember to put some water in a thermos flask if the aquaroll freezes.

Yeah, loads of sites do a 10 or 12 month year. Get your halogen heater on and you won't have a clue what it's doing outside! You may need to take a few more DVDs along though!
My camping season runs from Jan - Dec in my tt, previously used a tent in winter sometimes with no electric, one time i went the second weekend in Jan in the snow with no electric, never again it was absolutely freezing cold and my girlfriend was in tears. I now always ensure ive got the tv,dvd and definately the heater for a snug tear free night.
