I have finally discovered what it takes to get my OH interested in camping - a TRAILER TENT!  I took a bit of convincing myself as I love the canvass experience but I must say those beds do look mighty comfy (I must be getting old!).

So where is best to look to buy a decent second hand TT, or do the benefits of buying new outweigh the additional cost?

if anyone out there has any advice I would be greateful to hear.

I have a conway cruiser FC for sale on ebay. If you are interested I will post the link although it depends if you are willing to travel so far?

The travel distance is no problem, I'll travel for a good deal but having looked at the FCs they are too far removed from tenting for me, I really am looking for a trailer tent.  Is ebay a good place to look, as far as tents go I wouldn't buy a tent on ebay, I'm far too cautious.

Hi Mel. We sold our trailer tent with our local newspaper no problem. So look at local adds as well as the internet. The person who bought it has since phoned to say thank you and how immaculate it was......

The first T T we bought via a friend so tell people you know you are looking.

We are now looking for a new small 2 person budget FC (eg Raclet Solena, Cabanon Venus and Sunncamp Duo 240) and will be buying in the new year.

Hope you find your TT at the right price......

Mel, I have not bought anything like that from ebay and this is our 1st time selling on there! Fingers crossed we get a good price!

My brother bought his pullman FC from ebay, a 1991 model and it's been a good buy.

You take a chance no matter where you buy from, there's good and not-so-good sellers everywhere.

You could try the dealers, they might be having end of season sales now and you may get a bargain?

Home Counties Camping of Shepperton have a good selection of trailer tents both new and second hand.  Also Camping International of Horsham.  I think the display trailers will be packed up for the winter in 2/3 weeks time so you should be able to do some bargaining and get a really good discount.  Good luck with your search.
