  If it is the same size as the leg poles then it is the storm pole..............a much needed pole at times in this country ......there is usually a hole for it in the center of your awning...........it supports the main canopy

we had a conway trailer tent and always had a spare pole like a t shape turns out you clip it to a pole in the wardrobe to hang clothes on lol
