Am thinking of buying a trailer tent. Would go for a folding camper but only have a 105cm door to get it through on it's side for storage. Long story! Just two of us and the small dog at the moment, but you never know . . .
Anyway, have been looking at the Camp-let appollo, trigano arpege and have seen the Comanche ones. The trouble is I know nothing about them as we have a 4 berth Coleman tent at the mo. JJust looking for a little more comfort and something that can be put up very quickly for overnights, preferably minimal pegging. Not too demanding, am I?!
I can't recommend any particular model, but in general trailer tents are not very quick to put up. In fact, our Outwell Montana 12 took considerably less time than our friends Trigano Trailer Tent to put up (she just sold it and bought a Folding Camper!). I don't know if you can erect them without all the awning that goes with it - I'm guessing so?

A TT takes no longer to put up than asimilar sized frame tent. I've used both and would not swap my Conway for anything. The advantage over a frame tent is everything can be left in one place all season and you only have to sling a case in the car hitch up and your away.
Conways are the top notch TT and if you get one with Cabaon canvas it'll last for ages.
I have the side storage bars for my Conway, and I have to say they reduce the size of the trailer very little when it is turned on its side...a few inches. I know you can remove the axle also, but what a faff! Check very carefully that the brand you are looking at offers the side storage option, and how wide the final package is. It might just be easier to get your gate widened.
...thought about a Combi-camp? Opens in seconds, store your tables, chairs etc on the rack above, sleeps 2 or 4 in very comfy bed and 2 more in zip on annex if the model takes it and no pegging of main unit...owners group see my link if you're interested..
and welcome to the site by the way - lots of help on everything!!
ps where are you as there might be one handy that you could have a nose at??
hi have a look at the raclet solena its a 2 birth folding camper,no pegging out on the main uinit and very quick to erect and like most trailer tent can be stored on its side, lotts of underbed storage and full storage rack on the hard top, this model is excellent value for money.allso the comanchie petite is a 2 birth camper werth looking at,and the cabanon venus is a 2 birth camper.hope this helps.
Mary has suggested a combi-camp, which is sort of inbetween a Trailer Tent and a Folding Camper with prices inbetween also. I think if you want something quick and easy to put up you should seriously have a look at a combi as a trailer tent will take you just as long as a regular tent.
Thanks everyone, will have a look at all those mentioned, and anything else you can offer! We're in Surrey, doesn't seem to be so much going on down here so it's mainly internet browsing at the mo. Camplet will definitely fit - any views on those? I realise they're fairly new over here, not as established as Raclet, Conway, Trigano etc.
