hello everyone. i am pleased to say that i have located a supplier for replacement struts for my old esterel f/caravan. i am very grateful to romany for the link he posted in his reply to my last query. it was from this link that i got a quote. the struts are in stock, ready for next day delivery, if i order them. what concerns me is whether the price seems reasonable or not. i am new to the world of folding caravans (previously had two dandys but fancied a change) so have no idea if this price sounds fair. i am hoping someboy can give me their opinion as to if the price seems fair or not. i have been quoted £152.17 for the set of four. inc delivery and two year guarantee. i await your replies eagerly, once again, a big thank you to romany for the previous advice.
no expert on folding campers - but i'd say the price looks fine. they will be an exact swap for your existing units - as opposed to something which "may fit" - go for it....
many thanks for your reply, easycamp. it seems they will be a direct replacement ,so that is an easy job. i was unsure of the "going rate" for these struts. however, i have found some phone numbers for esterel dealers so i will be onto them on friday to find out the price and availability of these units. i should then be able to make an informed decision. once again, easycamp, many thanks. craig and sue.
thanks again romany. i have just been quoted £140 per pair plus delivery from one supplier. i was also quoted £110 per pair plus delivery from another supplier . so i think we can safely say that £152 for four delivered is a winner. i will get onto SGS Engineering (from the link you gave) and get some ordered. they also offer a re gas service for around £68. for four. thats worth bearing in mind for the future. unfortunately, i have got 2 missing so realisticly i need to replace all 4. many thanks once again. you are a very helpful bunch of people on here, and i am very grateful for all the advice given. thanks again. craig and sue.
that seems pretty cheap i am having problems getting folding strut internal arms for mine iv bought a folding andre jamet caravan and know nothing what so ever abought it ,if anyone could help id be very grateful..
