The raclets seem to be popular tents but most trailer tents take quite a bit of putting up - again fine if there's always 2 or 3 of you to pitch in and help but my kids always seem to get distracted easily or disappear, the Quickstop or Super Quickstop can be used without the awning easily too - sure there'll be some Raclet owners coming along soon. The great thing with tt's is that they're easy to tow and store but you have huge advantages being able to sleep in a comfy bed and use a decent kitchen and with electric the world's your oyster!
ps there are some posts about re Quickstops etc if you search the forum. Re the car - mine is a 1.8 petrol Meriva and the combi is 750kg laden (but is braked) and does it easy, most tt's are lighter

Hello and welcome to the site Razzamatazz  Raclet T T 's are really good. Owned one similar to the Marathon for 5 years. Now have a smaller FC style for just two of us.

You will have a great deal of space in the Marathon which is great for a family. I won't pretend that the awning is the quickest and easiest thing in the world..... but once you get the hang of it they are fab.

A unit such as a Quickstop does not need any pegging out of the main sleeping area... but the awning will be exactly the same.

You can use the cabin part of Raclet T T 's without the awning. There is a small light weight version called a MInto.

Whatever you decide best of luck and hope you get a bargain.

We have a raclet super quickstop and have no trouble towing it with a 1.8 Zafira and bikes on the back of the car too. You can see my comments on the super quickstop on the question about quickstop? on here. We have a 7 yr old and a 3 yr old. Last season they were 2 and 6 so we found the quickness of putting up just the camper without the awning for long weekends a real bonus as it is only minutes to put up.  A bit longer when you have to keep stopping to chase a 2 yr old who likes to run off to explore all the time.  The beds are huge too so penty of room if you end up with  one of the kids joining  you in the middle of the night.
