We have just taken the plunge with a new TT (Combi-Camp Venezia!) and following the excitement of the purchase, I'm wondering about the practicalities of getting it home

When you pick up a TT would you normally take along your own number plate & how do you attach it?!

Also will we need fancy mirrors for towing the TT, or do people manage without?

I know I should have asked, but I was far too excited about our new Combi

You will doubtless need to take your own number plate and this can easily be attached to the TT number plate place with sticky pads which most camping places sell.  I'm assuming here that sticky pads bought from camping places may be stronger than others bought elsewhere but I could easily be wrong!

When we had a TT, we did'nt use towing mirrors as the TT was'nt as wide as the car.  See how you go though, you might feel happier using them.

By the way, if you have to get a number plate made up, make sure you know what shape to get, i.e. square(ish) or the normal type.  Also you need to take your cars paperwork with you, believe I had to supply the reg document and a couple of utility bills with address on them.

Enjoy your Combi!

Hi There

Is it a brand new model?  If you bought it from Siggi at Mangine Ltd, then he can make you up a plate when you go to collect it.  We picked our new Combi up from him a few weeks ago and took our own plate but discovered when we got there that we could have got one from him for a lot less than we paid.  Siggi attached ours for us when we got there.

You won't need any fancy mirrors or anything and we found it very easy to tow home.

Enjoy your new Combi, I can't wait to get out in ours!!
