hi folks,
we did 2 weeks at tregarton park last september. the site is beautiful and very well maitained. toilet block was always spotless. site owners very friendly and helpful.......
there are a few things to bear in mind when booking this site.... you WILL need a car, almost everything is more than a good walk. the site shop, when we stayed, was running down and was very low on stock. the take away was the same, not a lot on offer. and we were on pitch 25, right at the top of the site. to say it was windy was an understatment. the give away is the wind turbine farm next door.
please dont think i am being down on this site, i am not ..... its a stunning site and we would cerftainly visit again, but not late in the year.
i hope yo all enjoy your stay,s
Richard :)
Hi, just interested to know where the wind turbine farm is. It wasnt there last May, is it new?
Thanks for all your great comments. Yes we are full for the June half term week. Should be a great week.
Regards Richards comments, the shop & takeaway closed during the third week of September last year. All our opening and closing dates are clearly displayed on websites, etc. Obviously a fully stocked shop and takeaway cannot be achieved when closing soon!
We do not have a wind farm next to us. There are two small wind turbines a few fields over behind the water tower. They were installed in August. I can understand why Richard has made reference to them as they obviously help him describe the wind issues he had. Please be careful using the word farm - The only farms next to me have sheep on them! (lol)
It is always very interesting reading people's preferred pitch choice. Richard, by the sounds of it, would like to pick a pitch lower down the park next time. Yet I have other guests who will not go lower down and will only camp high up! It's so much easier once you've been before - You pick the pitch and I don't get it wrong!!! (LOL)
Once again thanks for all your positive feedback and I look forward to welcoming you all back soon.
We've booked up for June 2 to 9th and I can't wait, the site looks brilliant. I've only seen great reports about this place, so I'm just happy I booked early.
We are unable to go in June now due to having to change our plans. We had booked half term/jubilee for 7 nights from Friday 01/06/2012 standard electric pitch. Deposit paid already. Will be cancelling tomorrow if anyone wanted to go but couldn't get in. 07801 399574 Ellie.
