As this is in "Meeting up and getting together", wouldn't it be better to put "I'm off to such and such in March. Anyone fancy joining me?"

Finding out where we are all going first, before sticking a pin in the list, before pouncing on the "winner" by delegating them as unofficial meet up organiser, comes across a bit too, how can I put it? "Stalky"!!
