We are going up to the lake District on Monday 8th September, after Shackerston , We hope to stay at " Mains farm Caravan site" Penrith & "Wallace Lane Farm" Wigton. If anyone from uKcampsite is staying there , pop over for a cuppa & chat. You can't miss us, our Motorhome seems to be the oldest around ( 22 years old, )haha ... and we have our "Invicta ( Kent ) , and Help For Heroes" Flags flying..( Weather permitting ) .

If you are travelling all the way up from Kent then why not stay on sites that are actually within the Lake District instead of sites that are on the outskirts and miles away from the mountains and lakes.

Thank you for your reply. There are two reasons ,
1) We don't want to be right inside the lakes with all the hussle and bussle of busy sites, as we prefer them quieter..
2) When we looked at a few sites "inside", we found that they were busy & expensive, compared to " Outside". Why pay £25pn when you can pay £15pn.? .

Hello steve and christine, sounds good ,would have loved to meet up ith you, as i will be in Scotland,and i would be passing that area on the way home, unfortunatley i have to go back home on the 7 sept ,as i have workmen coming on the 8, but if your out later in the month, i will be in the Cambridge area visiting my daughter.so could meet up down that area if your out and about, Pat and Tilly

Thank you for your reply, pity you couldn't make it,..... On leaving the lakes, ( Around 16th / 17th ) we are hopefully going over to York, to see a mate, staying there a couple of nights???? , then heading homewards, staying at near Cambridge ) for a night or two,. Then back home to the "smoke".... ( but York & Cambridge are not 100℅ yet, it is a case of wait and see, nearer the time ) ..So maybe we will bump into you .
