I am looking for sites that have easy access to a beach in the south or southwest of the country. I am in an new A Class motorhome having upgraded this year, so looking for a decent site as a static base for a few days where there may be other sociable motorhomers.

Most folks are sociable, we find. No guarantee that the right people will be there at the right time though.
You may find it a little more challenging at this time of year, as many sites close end of Sept or mid Oct as end of their season, only reopening in the new year.
That in turn piles the pressure on those that remain open, as supply and demand try to balance out, and many open sites don't seem to have vacancies.
I've just spent a couple of fruitless days trying to find a coastal site (for a caravan) anywhere between Norfolk and Hampshire (under 3 hour drive from Hertfordshire was my limit), where I can walk to the beach in half a mile or less. Relatively few sites tick that box anyway, but by the time you've excluded closed for the season, fully booked or stupid £45-£48/night PLUS metered EHU sites, or even those looking like over £35/night time you've paid for metered EHU, I've drawn a blank! If money no object, then potentially a few more sites open to you. An inland site wasn't really inspiring me, as the coast was the draw.
I'm off in 10 days anyway to the Lakes, but thought it'd be nice to escape the abusive excess of fireworks during Diwali for a few days before that, but maybe not going to happen.
I'm not a member of CCC which may have offered a couple, but am a member of CAMC. Quite surprised at how high demand is at this time of year.
You may find an A class MH limits you even more, some sites have length limits, and my just under 7m caravan was on the limit of a number of potential sites I looked at.
