I have booked Burton Hill Caravan Park ( HERE ) for the Bank Holiday weekend. It is at Malmesbury, north Wiltshire not that far from the M4. Anyone want to join us?
SashD and Visualize are coming along too. If you want to join us you will need to book direct with the site. We are going to be put in the overflow field which has a bit of a slope on it and NO EHU's. If you say you are with Andy Duff or the UKCampsite mini-meet we will all be put in the same place.
They will require a deposit of £10 which you can put on a Debit card. When booking please be honest about the size of your unit so Warren ( the guy I've been speaking to ) knows how much room he has. As once he hits the limit on space, thats will be it, as it is the busiest weekend of the year. ( so get in there quick if you want to come )
I tried to see if we could get any sort of discount but being the weekend it is I couldn't which is fair enough, so it will be the website prices. But Warren has said that we could have a off site time of 1pm instead of the 11am that they normally stick to.
As said, the field is sloping ( couldn't tell you how much of a slope though ) so it might be worth checking when you phone if it will be OK for vans, cant imagine it'll be that bad, Warren said he normally saves it for tents but we are a hardyish bunch and could cope for a few days. The loos are a 2 minute walk away and great views of Malmesbury ( lovely town ) which is about 5 minutes.
I think I've covered everything there.
It is a minimum of 3 nights being the BH, I am booked in Friday to Sunday nights, I am sure more would be possible but you'd need to find out when you book.
Anyway, Hope to see a few of you there if you fancy it.
That is only down the road from us, just north of Hullavington where Mark works, we had plans for that w/end but not sure if they're still going ahead now so we might be interested, will have a chat with a couple of other peeps first and let you know
Just noticed that they also do storage on their site which could come in handy in a few months time!
Hi Andy, I've just spoken to Warren and booked us in for Friday, Sat and Sunday night. He said the field is not hugely sloping but we could go by the hedge as it's a bit flatter there.
I'll get in touch with Shelley and see if she's booked yet. Cheers for arranging it,
