Hi all.... Looking to purchase a t5 transporter.. It has been converted professionally.. It's a 2011...166km...do people think this is too much mileage?.. I understand it's all related to service history..... Thanks in advance...
Oh, a piece of string question.
Our previous Autosleeper Clubman 1993-reg was on a T4 cab. It’s still in use. Not a T5, but our mechanic reckoned it was still being run in at 100K.
But check the rust on your vehicle: that’s why we moved on.
Hi fíona... Ya thanks... Its probably an unanswerable question tbf!!.. Was just putting the feelers out.... Have an option to convert also... So might buy a better year van
Bought a 2 year old van with just 10k less miles than that & it ran like a dream for our 9 years of ownership with justvs couple of minor issues. Giving good service to it's new owner. Not a VW though.
Hi all.... Bought the transporter... Got it checked with mechanic etc.. Feel like I got a good deal..... Looking forward to the road trips.... Still have my trailer tent!!... Hate to part with it..... But I'll use the transporter awhile see how I go.....
VW vans can easily cover 200k+ miles according to my nextdoor neighbour who is a mechanic for commercial vehicles and owners of VW Crafters and Transporters.

166km.... Timing belt was at 140km...alot of work done last year including clutch.. Fly wheel etc... So far happy with the purchase.. Just need to do a small repair on the pop top with a staple gun
