Morning Phil,

We have an Autograph 79-4i, previously we had an Autograph 745, I have been up on the roof of both but I used thick cork mats to spread the load so that my knees and feet didn't provide pressure points to damage the roof. Generally though I wouldn't do this for cleaning, only if I needed to inspect anything.

When cleaning the roof I lean the ladder against the roof to side extrusions (they're aluminium so they can take it), I always have a cloth pad between the ladder and the motorhome (partly to protect the bodywork and to prevent denting the extrusions).

I then use a mop that has a universal joint and a microfibre pad which is removable and easily rinsed out. It reaches everywhere on the roof although it won't go under the solar panel. We got the mop from the Range.

Hope this helps?

Cleaning motorhome or caravan roof found fitting a 1 meter stabiliser bar on bottom of ladder and foam pipe lagging fitted with cable ties where ladder contacts the bodywork, the safest way. Then extending handle brush. Solar panel push sponge underneath with a garden cane.

I find cleaning caravan roof I can open roof light and go up a step ladder inside the van with a bucket of water & mop etc which I can stand on the roof I can clean it while standing on the step ladder inside van and head and shoulders outside.

Inaccessible edges of roof can be accessed from a step ladder, garden wall etc from outside.
