I am just fitting a couple of extra 12v sockets to the lounge area of our van (strangely the only ones in the hab area are by the bed).
Sockets fitted and wires fed under the raised floor to the battery/fuse etc area.
To add the wiring to one of the feeds from the Elektroblok looks a bit of a faff, I would have to remove the battery and heating piping etc to get to the terminals, so I was thinking of wiring them directly to the battery (via a 20A fuse ).
The only disadvantage of doing this that I can see is that they will be permanently live, can anyone foresee any problems with that?

As long as you make good secure connections to the battery, and you put the fuse as close to the battery positive terminal as possible, it should be fine, in my opinion.

Went for the direct battery connection with a 20A fuse.
Pleased with the extra 12v and 240v sockets, never understood why they didn't fit any in the lounge area!
