Off to France via Poole/Cherbough. I can see online that you can park in the boarding lanes in Poole on the way out, but is it possible to stay at the Poole port on the return journey, other than in the boarding lanes(we arrive in Poole on a late crossing)?
Thanks

Yes, you can park in the port on the way back, we do it every year.
When you come through customs on the way back, you drive all the way round back to the main port entrance, there is another entrance to the car park but it's pretty tight if you're a long vehicle (we do it with a caravan and found it very tight).
When you get into the port parking again, you drive all the way over to the cafe on you right and park up along the wall, every time we have stayed there, we have found about 4 or 5 other caravans or motorhomes parked up, there's a sign with details of how to pay to park (I think it's about £15 or £20), which gives you 24 hours parking and they email a code for the showers etc (toilets and waste disposal can be used without a code).
I'm guessing most people don't pay, we do as we believe that they could decide to withdraw the facility if you don't.
It's ideal for late night arrivals and we stay there till about 10am before driving back to the midlands, nobody knocks on your door or disturbs you but if you don't want to hear the ferry all night it's maybe better to get a campsite.
