Hi. We have sold our touring caravan and I have been looking at tailgate awnings to getaway just for a couple of nights. I have done a simple removable conversion to fit the back of my estate car, single bed and storage. The thing I'm not sure about is when booking on a site do I have to book as a camper or tent.
Does anyone have any experience/advice of car camping with this sort of set up. Thanks.

I have seen more than one Citroën Berlingo type van with a drive away tailgate awning a the back, however, I can't remember seeing an estate car with one.
Personally, I can't see why not, and I would book it as a camper rather than a tent as I would be sleeping in the car and not the drive away awning.
Hopefully, the more seasoned campers will come and offer their help.

Hello fellow campers. I had a lwb high top transit connect until recently. I now have a Hyundai i10 which I'm still hoping to go away in. Too small I hear you say. Well maybe but I have to at least try. I'm looking for recommendations for a tailgate awning with the idea that I can build a bed and have my feet sticking out into awning. Can anyone recommend one that will fit around my tiny car?
