Does anyone know how to fix a swivel seat to lock into place it locks when travelling but not when you turn it round anyone got any ideas

i once had swivel seats in my last motorhome the passenger side was great the drivers side was awkward to turn but once you had turned it it was a good seating position as you have asked this is as i would like it, so my legs could have at least a small stretch.
