Am thinking about travelling to Cornwall for our first visit there. Carnon Downs and Tregunwith Farm are 2 stops I favour. Any comments on these sites. We are very basic campers, love good views, quiet countryside and not bothered about facilities. You seem familiar with the area. Thanks Anne
Morning Anne
Thanks for looking at our blog!
Oh yeah, we know Cornwall very well. Prior to moving down here we spent all our spare time down here anyway!!!
Carnon Downs is a great site. Top class. In fact we are there in May for the 4th time! Not sure about the other site as never stayed there - sorry!
If it's your first ever trip to Cornwall you may like to try the Looe area (we use the Caravan Club there site but you have to be members).
Further along the South coast there's are great little site with countryside views and a short walk to the ferry over to Fowey at Bodinnick called Penmarlam Park - highly recommended!
Our favourite campsite in Cornwall is Ayr Holiday Park, St Ives - just for the views overlooking St Ives Bay!!
For the North coast you can't go wrong with beautiful Bude (but I may be slightly biased there?!). Wooda Farm seems to be the best site around here.
If you need anymore info, please let me know!

As you say Sharon 'short but sweet' but beautifully formed!!
Site looks like Bowdens Crest - we did the same thing a couple of years ago, after having habitation etc at WsM, had a few days there- lovely site In fact we are off to WsM on Sat for this years check but leaving it for a week as a few outstanding jobs to be done before MOT etc in June!
All being well, down in your neck of woods at Easter with West Country MCC at Bude Holiday Park!!!
Well spotted - Bowdens Crest indeed! We loved it there - lovely people!
We are back at WCM on 1st April for a new mini Heki rooflight to be fitted - last of our free warranty work! Passing them on the way to Cheddar CC site so no hassle!
Looks like we may pass each other on the A39 or M5 then Alison. Don't forget to wave. Hope Bude is as sunny over Easter as it is today!
Happy Camping!
Sharon

I wondered where you were!!!! Missed you, obviously!
Yeah, we are all good down here thank you. I have the urge to be 'camping' every other weekend but 'Bob-the-Builder' keeps getting offered 'cash jobs' - he tells me they pay for our weekends away!!! Paddy is getting on fine. We have him on some different meds at the moment so hoping to get some reasonable walks in once the warm weather appears and decides to stay.
Hope all is well with you and yours Delboy?!

Glad to hear that about Bowden's Crest, we are booked in there for a night on our way back North after our Cornwall trip in July - 2 nights Cheddar Gorge on the way down, 4 nights Tregrurrian (love the coastal walk to Mawgan Porth and Newquay) and then Somerset levels for the 1 night.
Let me know how Cheddar Gorge is - are you staying at the CC site? For Easter I am off to Scotland with my sister in her VW camper, 3 nights B&B then up to Oban to hop over to Mull then overnight in Cumbria at friends on way back, can't wait!!!

Morning Jane
I can assure you that you won't be disappointed with either site. We love the Cheddar CC site and stay there at least once a year. Nice site, great facilities and within a very easy walk to the village where you will find plenty to do! Bowdens Crest is lovely too, the views from the site are just stunning and the owners are just really nice people.
Your Easter trip with your sister sounds perfect. That's an area we've not really touched - and I am desparate to!
Take Care,
Sharon x
