Don't ever recall having a problem with my quite old (15 plus years) Electrolux (Dometic) 3-way portable camping fridge, or the much newer (4 year old) Dometic fridge fitted in caravan, regardless of which power source I use, but was always aware of need to have them quite level for correct operation.

Somewhere in my info gathering efforts, I picked up that the fridge needs to be level within plus/minus 3 degrees side to side and/or plus/minus 6 degrees front to back. Now 3 degrees is a noticeable slope on a caravan or camper (about 1ft nose to tail difference on a 20ft vehicle), and 6 degrees is positively uncomfortable to live with (about 8in difference side to side on a 7ft wide vehicle)! - you should be able to better those angles without the aid of a spirit level, by just judgement alone, but a spirit level app on your mobile phone or a basic bubble spirit level takes the guesswork out of it!

I'm sure I've pushed the limits on the camping fridge without any problems, but tend to level the caravan quite well to get sinks and shower to drain properly, of which the fridge obviously benefits too.

Many thanks for that. Our van is only 7.2 so you would think a slight slope would be ok.
All the best
