Hi Bonzo,

how many watts is that micro you got? You say it works fine, how many amps in your batteries to power it? I`ve alredady got the invertor, rated bigger than that one in your link, so that`s not a problem. Can you get the usual 5 or 6 mins use from it for a mealtimes cooking (I`m not thinking of doing the Xmas dinner in it, just nuking some ready-meal curries)

All this is ONLY if I can`t get a hook-up on site when I need one. better to be prepared and have the kit ready Carrying a micro. anyway, and have the invertor wired with BIG cables to cope, including fuses.

Thanks for the info Terry. Usually the invertor has a low-voltage cut-off, around 11.5 volts I think, doesn`t take much from your battery to drop it to that.

I have got 400A+ of battery: The M/wave is 450w so let's say it draws 900w running and around 1200w to 1400w surge on start and yes, it does "do" baked potatoes, Rice, treacle sponge pud and all manner of non PC nourishing meals

Frightening how the figures mount up, isn't it/

Terry - we've got to stop meeting like this Trouble is that if you consult Samsung UK they will deny all knowledge of the 12vDC M/wave. I do sometimes wonder if they are a grey import. They are sold to us Motorhomers and Caravaner's by very reputable companies. It's just that I wish that Samsung were a bit more forth-coming with support.

I think the term I would use Terry, is that the little darlings are being economical with the Verite
