Our new waggon (MH) has a reversing camera and although I see the benefits - it's all there on a screen in front of me - I do find it a bit confusing at times.
Thing is, although I can see right behind me I can't actually see directly down towards the bumper which means I'm not fully sure of how far back I can go.
I know, at least I think I know, that I can tilt the camera but then the bike rack blocks the view.
Any advice?
------------- Patrick.

Patrick my car has a reversing camera on it and frankly apart from a quick glance when I back into the drive to ensure there are no other cars on it or peeps, I don't use it.
I like to look around me, I can't see the benefit of a camera with such a limited view to be honest. I can't gauge what is happening to the left or right of the car and I have to back into a car port between the house and fence with very little room and it just doesn't help me one iota.
Nice gimmick but a waste of time on the whole!

Get someone to look out the back window for you.
There is no back window!
Snowy I know what you mean but I can see straight back but not down far enough, otherwise it's dead handy.
Another thing about these camera is they and the monitor can be targets for thieves.

I have a rear view camera on the Oklahoma caravan as there is no back window.
You could remount the camera lower down and stick a GB etc sticker over the original hole.

Ha ha ha, nice suggestion but in my neck of the woods a GB sticker suggests rich pickings for the opportunistic types.
Besides the missus would have a heart attack if she discovered a hole on the new waggon!

Most screens have a port for a second camera, I mounted mine under the cycle rack. The view is excellent and the camera is rarely spotted from behind.
I think there is such a port on the monitor. Thanks Dingray. Another camera might just be what the doctor ordered.
Anyone know where I can get an additional one from and how much?

John mate that is a great link. Thanks for that. This will make my life a lot easier and hopefully save me from hitting some furry little creature while reversing. No, not my wife!------------- Patrick.

I also cant get used to using the reversing camera but what I have done the last couple of times is used the distance of the bike rack from the van as the bench mark as to where the van is exactly ie the bike rack is 36 " extended from the bumper so i know i'm 36" from any object and the wing mirrors give my sides clearance its working for me anyway and i'm a really newbie in this thing
