Does anyone know approximate cost of fitting an LPG conversion to a T25 van?
Also, I read on another message that it may be possible to run your gas cooker(and presumably fridge) off the same LPG tank - this sounds ideal but is it really possible, and where could I get the parts, or could it be done during the conversion?
I just had my petrol Transit converted by an installer local to me. It cost £1175 inc vat, which I think is a typical price for a carburettor engine. Fuel cost savings should be around 40%, so in my case it will pay for itself in 18 months. Bear in mind that you will probably lose 10-20% MPG compared to petrol.
I was advised to look for a fitter who is a member of the LPGA (LPG Association) Approved Installers Scheme- apparently some insurers will only cover you if the job is done by an approved installer (don't know how true this is though). So check with your insurance company first.
