I am so pleased that you liked the Dimension as I wonder if I am a bit biased!  Having looked in a Duetto, I think that the Dimension has more storage.

The new Dimension is certainly very good, but I tend to think that the older washroom layout is better.  Still that might partly be sour grapes as we can't afford a new one.  Ours is 2004 model.

I can't imagine that there will be much leeway on bargaining as they don't make many, but no harm in trying.  Keep us all notified on what you decide.

Yes, I doubt that there is much scope for haggling.  Oh well, just have to hope that they will offer me a fantastic trade-in value on my current van and also hope my bank manager likes it as much as I do!

Interesting to hear your opinion as an owner about the washroom. I liked the look of the sliding door of the newer one better than the opening door on the older model, but the basin was certainly smaller.

As a matter of interest, what sort of fuel consumption do you get as a rule?

Yes, I do think that the sliding door is an improvement, but the smaller washbasin didn't seem so good.  Also having to open the rear doors to get to the cassette toilet for emptying seemed a backward step, but it meant one less hole through the body of the van.

We get about 33 mpg overall - our previous vehicle, VW T4 (2.4D) did about 35mpg.  We don't do many short local trips and this is our only vehicle.  Some friends who have a brand new Dimension seem to be getting about 36mpg and their on-board computer registered nearly 40mpg on one occasion.

Well done, I'm sure that you won't regret your decision.  Everyone is always amazed at how much storage we have and how well designed the Dimension is.

I still don't understand how they've done it  - the difference in actual physical measurements between it and my VW is barely a couple of inches in length and width, yet inside it feels twice as big even though it has far more storage plus a loo/shower cubicle.  Amazing.  Now trying to decide where to go for a few days after it arrives to give it a run out before we head off for Scotland for a couple of weeks at the end of August.  Really looking forward to a bit of comfort after our very much more basic van.  Mind you, I think it'll take a couple of weeks at least to find out how eveything works, it's all a lot more sophisticated/complicated than I'm used to!
