We're thinking of a doing a total coast tour of europe starting in November and going through northern spain, portugal and southern france.

Any tips would be very helpful e.g what might the weather be like

 hi scrouse if you want good facts about europe touring in winter then try motorhomefacts.com website, lots of motorhome people on there that do full time living in their vans. sorry but hubby and I are only summer hols folk at the mo so cant give you a true picture of weather and conditions and anything else you may need to be aware about.

sorry if this upsets anyone on here but have never read more than dover to calais.

We had 3 months travelling in March ,our first time over the pond in the motorhome,first time driving in Europe!.We went on the euro tunnel courtacy of Tesco then down the coast Normandy,Britany,4 weeks in France useing aires in the villages and towns advised not to use Auto route ones .then into Spain down To Gaurda and over to Lisboa then down to the Algarve .Back up into the middle of Portugal to do some of the Barrogens 4 weeks in Portugal.Spent a few nights at Salamanca then back Through Spain into France Along to South France.We then went up to Mallau not to be missed the bridge is superb.We just mozzied around went back to Twimlakestwinlakesinfo at hotmail.co.uk in all we had 13 weeks had a great time no problems at all.Used Aires in Fance wild camped in Portugal went into 2 sites for 2 nights each one at Albufeira and one at Olhao washing to do lol lots of british there.Plenty wild camping is .We were very apprehensive when we went but now got the bug cant wait to get away again.But it will be January before we can go hopefully for another 2-3 months..We used the Airs de service camping car book it was great in French but easy to follow. Oh! the joys of retirement.

Hi,  my first post.  We travel through France every year as we live iin Spain for winter months.  Two to consider:

Toll roads can be very expensive

Navigation systems avoiding toll roads frequently take you to some pretty low bridges (just around a corner)
