We've got so used to having our memory foam topper on our bed at home that I was dreading our two weeks in Cornwall this year in our dear tin tent. And with the rear double bed not being a bog standard size, (3' 8" wide x 74" long), I knew it wouldn't be easy to get one for that. Also having to keep our weight down as much as possible with our 'Ellie' being longer and heavier than our old Esprit so if we were able to get a memory foam cut to size jobby, it would have to also be light weight.

So......dreading two lumpy weeks on that bed, I went for the option that other ukcs peeps have gone for with a relative amount of success for a comfy nights kip and got a single summer weight duvet, (really lightweight and doesn't take up much room for stowing in transit either), and hoped that would suffice.........it didn't!

So....before next years two weeks............yep.....that's right we only get two iccle weeks in it each year....DON'T ASK....it's a sore point...it now looks as if I shall have to do some serious research and part with a substantial amount of dosh in order to get a thin memory foam topper even if I have to cut it down to size and make a cover for it meself 68coz I just cannot bear the thought of two weeks or even more agony than I have at the best of times with me arthritis and fibromyalgia anyhoo.

I've just taken a squiz on that linky doo dah but all of those are 2"ones so defo out for us.

Have to say though that I think memory foam toppers are the cats whiskers! And once you've experienced one....ya don't wanna go without

I have been looking at these and the factory is not far from us so I thought I would go and get one, which one did you buy as they come in different thicknesses?

Glad you like them as they are pricey but if they do the job that's all that matters

Hi

We got a memory foam topper from dun elm, its a 2 in one and I think it was 109 pounds, its worked really well and it was easy to cut the corner off at the bottom of the bed to follow the proper mattress, I then put the off cut in a cushion cover and use it to support my back when im sat on the dinette,  if you could get a three inch one that would be even better.

They are definitely worth the money.

We bought two single 2" toppers plus four zipped covers (which can be used as sheets) from Raskelf.

I would thoroughly recommend them.  They solved all our sleeping problems in the caravan.

We bought our 2 single memory foam mattress toppers approx 3 years ago from the Peterborough show for our Swift Kontiki as the rear lounge bed when it was made up were not proper mattresses and as well as being a bit hard to sleep on we could also feel the piping on the upholstery through our bedding. These memory foam toppers are fantastic and turned our bed into the most comfiest bed ever and it felt like our Kontiki bed had been totally transformed.

We have now put them on top of the proper sprung mattresses of the 2 single beds in our new fixed bed Auto Trail and it's like sleeping in a really luxurious little nest and going to bed in our new motorhome is sheer bliss! We also bought memory foam pillows but we were not so impressed with them and have now reverted back to hollow fibre pillows - but we have bought good quality ones as to me comy bedding is a major priority!

I cannot remember the make or the price of the memory foam mattress toppers we have but when we visited the Lincoln motorhome show recently the company we bought them from were showing there cos we bought 2 spare zipped sheets from them for ours and there stane was very busy. They have a bed made up with the mattress toppers on display for people to try out and I am sure once you lie on one you will want one especially if you suffer back problems etc. They might be showing at York so it might be worth seeking them out if you are visiting the York show.

This is just my personal opinion but I personally think it is wiser to buy 2 single toppers as opposed to 1 double as this way you have the option to use them on any size bed then and it's just a case of lying them side by side when using them on a double bed.

I hope my recommendations are of some help to anyone thinking of getting one of these fabulous toppers.

Sooh x

PS. My hubby seems to think we paid around £100 for the 2 mattress toppers 3 years ago including the zipped covers and the make on the label of our 2 topppers is Raskelf. I know there are both cheaper and more expensive ones around but what the difference is between them all I cannot honestly say but the ones we have are excellent and we have no complaints.
