We had our very first weekend out in our newly aquired but old 1984 Talbot camper last week. We went to Edale in the Peak District on a farm that had electric hookup and a small shop and a pub over the road. The van needs some cleaning up but thats why I bought it.All in all it was a great weekend, nice and cosy in the evening and easy to live in, plenty of room for the two of us. In the daytime we walked up Kinder Scout and saw some great views. Sunday morning we awoke to a snow covered landscape, beautiful.

The only complaint is that we tried to set up the bed as a double and my feet kept dangling in mid air between the two front seats. Does anyone know how to est up the bed, I presume we use the table tops, but how exactly??

Can't wait for the spring.

Regards

Peter & Barbie

Hi fred

The view you describe of Kinder Scout sound lovely but the mind boggles at your feet dangling out of the end of the bed in the cold.

I am sure you will master it in the end - good luck.

Hi Peter & Barbie Great isnt it that you can just pack up and go !! I go away every weekend with my son even if it is only 10 miles, stop to have a beer and have never been refused when asking to stay in the carpark for the night (it helps to have a very talkative 9 year old). I`ve got a Talbot Harmony and the cushions and base were an extra to go between the front seats. If you look on the preloved website there is a section which deals solely with Talbot Express and on there someone has made up the base with diagrams which you can download, well worth a look. Enjoy your Talbot who cares about age ! Wyn.
