QUESTION

What causes condensation in head light?

How do I cure it?

and would it fail its MOT, if I dont deal with it?

It depends on age as to mirror lens is plastic or metal. Many new cars suffer from condensation in front and rear lamps, mainly with the new plastic lens, from a warranty/manufacturing point of veiw "if it clears within 20 mins with lights on" it is not a problem. For the MOT only if the beam pattern is affected...... PJ

I have just looked in my hand book --tells me how to switch them on and change a bulb but not yet found anything else to help me

I have had this ever year in the wifes BMW.

The morning before the MOT I spend an hour or so with a hairdryer blowing warm air through the rear and warming up the front and it goes. Then passes the MOT

Just take the black plastic cover off the rear access to the headlight leave it off for a week or so, it will evaporate or you can drill two small holes in said cover so it vents itself
