advise sought please --can a main battery on the symbol be charged/boosted without removing the leads,-or will this action "BLOW" the alternator????

Hi,
we have a 04 Symbol, and charge the vehicle battery using the hook up lead, and 13a plug adaptor.
Switch the main control panel to van if wanting to charge the vehicle or Hab if wanting to charge the leisure battery.

Using this method no battery leads need removing.
