Hi, can someone reccommend a driveaway awning suitable for a Ford Duetto? The Movelite XL looks suitable, but I'm not sure.

We've just this morning taken delivery of a Movelite "Square",for using with our Duetto. (we'd ordered from Camping International,Gilligham at the NEC show)
Will have to wait for the wind to die down before I give it a try but going by the one on show at the NEC,it looks a vast improvement on the old Movelite..far more upright walls ,giving a roomier feel.
The Movelite XL did look way to big for our vehicle though..
When/if I get some reasonable weather,I'll erect our "Square" and put some photos in my profile so you can gauge for yourself.
Hi, pepe63, thanks for your info, I look forward to seeing the photos of how it fits your Duetto. I measured our gutter and it was 210cm and the Nomad seemed to fit the bill, but not sure about the storage of those bent poles. Presumably one would carry the pack in the shower room until on site.
If you hurry up and erect yours you could test it for it's behaviour in the high wind forecast for tomorrow!!! Only kidding!
Hi Ernie, if ever you are up this way, i wish you would come and visit. Liverpool has come a long way since 1969, and it deserves the title of city of culture,of europe, now i know there is a lot of people out there that may have a different opinion, but we only have lived here for the past 2 years, my job was down south for 37 years. and the change we have witnessed is extraordinary, my mrs, wanted to come home to her roots.Anyway, going back to the awning, if you hit the web site ie. nr,awning, you will get an idea of what the it looks like, its the first pitcure on left on the left of the motorhome awnings, the colour seems different, but its the same one as i have , it is so new that the curtains have never been used. And by the way you will find me very easily, you don't have to hit all the wine bars in town. What the ? she has moved it again.

Sorry Ernie..Still really havn't had the weather to try out the Movelite yet.Just out of interest, the pack size is 12"x12"x24" long(Which fits okay in the off-side settee locker).
I have put a couple of photos on our gallery,of our Outdoor Revolution Easi-porch,which is great little "stop-over awning"..If you can find one at the right price(I think we found ours on ebay, brand new, for about £85)it makes a nice little addition to your kit
We have a Harrison High Top DeLuxe A Size(Low Vehicle) Drive away awning which we used on our Ford Duetto. As we have changed our van it is no longer suitable as our new van is higher. Measurements are as follows: Height 183cms-214cms (6ft -7ft) Length 305cms(10ft) Colour burgundy and sand. I have photos of it attached to the Duetto but don't know how to show them on the forum. If you are interested can you PM me.
Tried the Movelite today..quite a good awning. One major drawback though,it doesnt fully cover the "travel" of the sliding door!(I suppose most awnings are the same though..I'd never really thought about it!)
( A little awkward to put up ,as the fibre-glass poles have shaped "shoulder" section, which needs to be fed through the pole-sleave .So it could do with two of you to put it up!)
Hi Mayflower, I've racked my brain as to what you mean by PM me. I'm new to this and not familiar with all the email jargon, or maybe I'm stupid!!
I searched on Google for Harrison websites to get a picture of the Hi Top, but could not find a good one with all the specs. except that the wt. was 27k (59.4lb). We think that may be a little heavier than we two 'oldies' want to carry.
I got the impression from the adverts that the brand was of very good quality, hence the high price. We think that for what you could expect to ask for yours we may be able to buy something lighter and cheaper new. A pity because otherwise it sounds good and fits a Duetto. We're new to this game and from what I read it seems one needs two awnings, one for long stays, and one for short that assemble quick and easy.
Hi Ernie - Don't know if this is any use to you, but check out www.foxwellproducts.co.uk and look for the Rodeo Economical Free Standing/Drive-away awning.
We are looking for a new awning for our 'campervan' but up to now we haven't been impressed with what we've seen - they're not what we would call proper awnings, they're just tents with windows. We do like the look of this Rodeo though, it's the nicest one we've seen so far. I rang the company and spoke to a really helpful guy - it's a small family firm based in Lincolnshire, and round about Easter time he puts out all his awnings on display on his own premises. We were in doubt about one of these being suitable for our vehicle so he said we can call in there and try one of these awnings against the van, and if it's suitable he will even show us how to put it up and take it down again. We will be down that way at Easter so we're going to call in on the way back - I've a funny feeling this might turn out to be a very expensive Easter!
Tbh, I haven't a clue what a Duetto looks like, but I'm sure it would be worth you checking out the Rodeo. Hope this helps -
Eunice
