Hi I have aquired a Transit based motorhome built by Willow Motorhomes. It doesn't have a rail attached to which I could fit an awning.

Is there any way I could fit say the Movelite XL to give me a bit more room? Or would I need to fit a channel somehow.

Awaiting answers of assistance.

We have a khyam classic for our vw and simply attached guy ropes which we peg the other side of the van. Its been fine even in really rainy, windy conditions.

I think you'll find that the movelite XL actually comes with straps attached to allow you to do something similar. It definately much easier to throw the ropes over the van and peg down that keep attaching to rails.

quote from .com: "The Movelite XL also features a unique strap system. Two straps are fixed to the unit, which can then be thrown over the vehicle and pegged at the opposite side. To move away simple unclip the straps at the base. It couldn't be simpler"

I can highly recommend the khyam awnings- definately worth the extra money as they are so quick and easy to put up.

Hope that helps.

Hi Rubbleowl have a look at www.foxwellproducts.com recommended to me. They have a rodeo model with throwover straps or suckers for without gutter rail Transits.

We bought those sucker thingies at quite a cost and then found them not to be much good. The surface has to be absolutely flat (not easy depending on your van) and completely clean. If not they will not stick on.
Throwover straps are the best option.
