We don't have a Sundance, but know of a couple that did and they were totally delighted with it.We always wanted a Kontiki (640/6) when the children were young, but couldn't afford to trade up, back then from our Autohomes Excalibur. Now there's just the two of us, we're really happy with our 2 berth van conversion from Trigano. Northern France has many campsites and a cheap guide from WH Smith will list dozens and dozens throughout the WW 1 (and II ) battlefield regions. If you are closer to Dover then you may consider the cheaper routes ,particularly at less sociable travel times to Dunkirk. It's a little further by road, south to France but in our opinion  , not excessive and cost effective if you're watching the "pennies."! If you're further west, we have have also enjoyed (the more expensive but restful) night crossing, with a sleeper cabin from Portsmouth to Cherbourg. This would give access, on a longish  but enjoyable , loop North to the Somme region. Just go and enjoy! You've a made a good choice with the Sundance. Be warned, the WW sites can make for a very emotional visit. We have found the French to be delightful on the whole especially if you try to speak their language. It's only good manners!

Thank you dinkum,

Thought that no one was going to reply.

I bring up my grandson [long story] who is now 14 yrs,and he has just been to Ypes with school and found it  very moving.

i have always loved the war poets espically Wilferd Owen.

Thanks for your tips and it always nice to talk with some one.
