Cheaper at Maplins at the moment, £20 for a 300w.

These are quasi sine  inverters and there is always a black line rolling along the tv screen. The best are the pure sine inverters give a perfect picture.

You must be very unlucky.  Have used 3 cheap and chearful units in various motorhomes/caravans with absoutely no problems.  Run LCD tv, computer, DVD and charge phones.

If you want to throw money away for a pure sine, then its your choice
