At the end of last year we bought a Swift Sundance 590RL motorhome and we didn't get the chance to use it apart from the odd few weekends. When we did need it our engine battery was flat and no amount of boost got it going so in the end we just bought a new battery. We have just returned from our holidays and will not be using the van for a little while and not wanting to do the same thing this year we have just bought a battery conditioner with the intention of removing the battery and keeping it topped up.

The problem we have is the battery is not the normal size, it is longer and we are having difficulty finding leads that will reach the red and black terminals on the battery.

Has anyone any idea where we can get some long ones please?

if you mean the leads on the charger you can make your own if you are only going to use a trickle charger.

If your battery is good it should hold it,s charge anyway.

Hi Delboydriver,
I may have to resort to making the leads myself, which may appear easy to you, but I'm a complete novice. I'm OK about the ends that fit on to the battery, I've identified those at Maplins but the end that fits in to the charger is a square piece with red on one side and black on the other and that's where I'm stuck!
