this might be a daft question, but when is the first MOT due on a motorhome? is it 3 years like a car? I thought as it was based on a van you got longer, mine is a CI carioca 635 on a fiat ducato base. Thanks
We were about to set off for the weekend and our road tax was due I wa going to call at the PO on the way - only when I got out the docs did I realise that the MOT was also due (2 days earlier in fact). Fortunately our local M/H dealer (Todds) pointed us in the direction of Lancs CC vehicle repair unit where the MOT was done as we sat in the Van!!

The main problem I found was getting a garage large enough to take the van. I generally used commercial garages that were used to catering for larger vehicles.
Here in the wilds of Scotland, things are fine as a lot of garages cater for biggish agricultural vahicles.
I got the MOT and serive done at a ford commecial garage, they seemed to be the only ones in the area that could fit it in and the price wasn't too bad either!
