well there is no compression on 3 of the cylinders on the new...old ... engine...

we took of the cam cover and 3 of the hydraulic tappets/followers are not working probably had the oil drain outta them while the engine has been standing.....

I'm sorry to post in probably the wrong thread, but I'm hoping to be forgiven.

I own a 1987 VW Caravelle GL - Syncro, but the VC has definitely had it's day and needs to be replaced along with a refurbished prop-shaft.

I already bought a recon VC unit and have had the prop done by a firm in Neath.

My problem is that being a desk-bloke all my working life, I know a big ZERO when it comes to the mechanics of vehicles and I am physically disabled to the degree that I would have to call out the RAC to change a wheel.

Therefore, I am trying to find a garage and/or an enthusiast to replace and test.  Money is not an object, but I need someone with plenty of experience of these strange models of T25/T3's.

I live in Caerphilly.

They're a really good bunch of people and will be able to recommend a garage/mechanic.
