Hi- Have just purchased a Movelite XL awning which I intend to fit to the grooved channel on my Fiamma roll out awning ( I have the drive away kit attachment ) and was wondering if anyone has one, and could give tips and advice on the easy way to erect the unit, save me struggling on site the first time. Can it also be erected single handed, the instructions say the erection time is 10 mins, but I think that may be with 3-4 people helping. Any advice most welcome.
Hi Put the frame throught the awning but leave the legs folded down until you have it through tidy (if you know what I mean) then lift it up and lower legs. We have the drive away kit but don't like it the awning seems a bit sloppy we prefer to throw the straps over the M/H and secure to ground a much better fit and much easier when returning to fit back up.
The easiest we found is if one person gets inside after you have fitted the poles in the sleeves. If they lift the awning in the center then it is easier to get the fittings into the end of the legs. What takes the longest is pegging it out, just getting the poles through & fitted is less tha 5 minutes, but depending on the ground there are quite a lot of pegs.
Hi, we use the throw over straps as its easier to release and re-attach, when erecting we push the poles through, stand it up then straighten/square it up and then place in the position we want to peg it down in, I have done it on my own and it took probably 15 mins and then 20 mins to peg down and tidy up.
